OUR CLASSES

We teach classes during school holidays, weekends, weekdays after school and at schools. We also provide 1-2-1 classes for children who might need extra help and focus to get them riding without stabilisers. Balance bike classes for nurseries and children under 4 years old can be arranged on request with a minimum of 5 in attendance.

Glide's classes are taught at Leisure Centres or schools and we try to use an outdoor space when available and will move the class inside if required.

We teach our classes in the following areas and we are adding new venues and areas all the time due to demand.

East Sussex, West SussexKent, Surrey, Essex, Wiltshire, Berkshire, Hampshire,

Gloucestershire, Worcestershire Bristol, Dorset, Somerset

If there's not a class available near you please get in touch and tell us where and we'll make sure to open a class as soon as we can.

We have a Class Checklist that should be completed before attending.

Nursery BALANCE BIKE Classes

This is aimed at children from the age of 2-4 yrs. At this level, the fundamental movement patterns, gross motor skills and dynamic balance are incorporated along with an introduction to the balance bike.

Children learn how to pick up, manoeuvre, mount and dismount their bikes and then learn the skills to ride a balance bike safely. The aim of level 1 is to create the confidence to glide a balance bike with their feet off the floor.

If you would more information about us running a balance bike class in your areas please email us using the link below.

CLASS CHECKLIST

Your child will need a pedal bike without stabilisers, a bike helmet, snacks and water.

Before you arrive at the class:

  • Take the stabilisers off the bike

  • Take both pedals off (not the pedal cranks, just the pedals) and bring them to the class with you

  • Pump up the tyres to the correct pressure

  • Check the brakes work correctly

  • Adjust the saddle so the feet are flat on the floor with a slight bend in the knee

If you unable to do any of these preparations, we can do them at the beginning of the class but we prefer the bike be prepared so your child will have more time learning to ride!

If you do not have a bike, then we recommend borrowing a bike from a friend or getting a bike from www.bikeclub.com who hire really good bikes (such as Isla, frogs, squish) from £9.99 a month.

We have bikes available to hire. Please send us a message when booking that you require a bike. We will be in touch as to what size your child needs.

“Highly recommend these classes. My daughter was a slow starter and was shown patience and encouragement throughout and in no time was riding her bike with confidence. She absolutely loves riding around now. Thanks for being a brilliant teacher.”
